Then, when I walked down the hall to the elevator and beyond, I worried even more. When I went down the steps to the dark old fashion lobby, I was worried. Hubby & I went for an extended weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary. ![]() Still a beloved place for us, but not aging well. Room rates have shot way up in recent years but the building upkeep hasn't kept pace. They may have been "prestige condominiums" in their heyday, but now it's false advertising. It's steps away from some of the best ice cream in the multiverse (Lakeside Creamery). The front desk staff are helpful, the staff we encountered were all pleasant and helpful. There's another new restaurant on property (Firewater's) that we didn't make it to, but the building is gorgeous. The updated on-site restaurant (Ace's Run) is surprisingly good (but hella pricey). The pool and hot tubs are dated but charming. The automatic deadbolt on the front door worked sometimes, but not always. The toilet paper holder fell off the wall. Sticky decals on the tub floor were dated and felt dirty. The rooms vary - many have been updated, but the multi-level unit we stayed on still had very old bathrooms that felt sad and run-down. ![]() ![]() The common areas are dark and musty, the carpets worn, the huge picture windows covered with webs and dirt. The location on the lake is unbeatable, but the building is really showing its age. I've been going here with family for over 30 years.
